Why SAXO made it onto my recommendation list

After 16+ years in Swiss banking and finance, I do not hand out recommendations lightly. SAXO is the broker I personally use and the one I send my clients to when they want a serious, Swiss-regulated home for their long-term portfolio.

Swiss bank, Swiss rules

Saxo Bank holds a full Swiss banking licence and is regulated by FINMA. Deposits are protected up to CHF 100'000.-. The same standard you get at any major Swiss bank.

Built for long-term wealth

120+ ETFs available through AutoInvest at zero trading fees. No custody fees. No inactivity fees. Interest paid on uninvested cash. The structure rewards patient investors.

A real product universe

Swiss and global stocks, ETFs, bonds, funds, options, futures and crypto ETPs. One account, one tax statement, one platform. No need to juggle three brokers.

Tax season made simple

Free e-tax statement. At Swissquote that costs CHF 100.-. At UBS, up to CHF 250.-. Small detail. Real franc savings every year.

Honest fit check

SAXO is excellent for most Swiss investors. It is not the right pick for every single profile:

SAXO is a strong fit if you

  • Want a Swiss-based, FINMA-regulated bank, not a foreign neobroker
  • Plan to invest regularly into ETFs through a savings plan
  • Care about a clean, free Swiss tax statement
  • Want one platform that handles stocks, bonds, options and crypto ETPs

SAXO is probably not for you if you

  • Want to appear in the Swiss share register of individual companies
  • Are looking specifically to avoid Swiss stamp duty (DEGIRO would suit you better)
  • Want to actively day trade with leverage as your main strategy

Quick answers before you commit

How quickly will I receive the trading fee refunds?
